Umngot River, known for its cleanliness and transparent water, is in the state of Meghalaya (India). The river flows through the town of Dawki, a popular option among tourists visiting Meghalaya. The place offers fun & adventure activities, boating facilities, and eating joints. However, tourists or individuals who would like to enjoy the serenity of the Umngot River may long for a quieter location.

Going further around 5 to 6 kilometers from Dawki is Village Darrang. The Umngot River passes through the Darrang Village too. The place has boating and camping facilities managed by the Village Panchayat. We opted for boating in River Umngot. One may explore other adventure activities offered in this place. There are decent eating joints as well.

The transparent water, the lush green environment, the serenity of the place, and the quietness were an experience to cherish. For those who are looking for serenity and feel uncomfortable in a crowded place, Village Darrang is an option to explore River Umngot.
